The Museum

The Municipality of Castelbuono entrustes the preservation, value and promotion of the monumental, historical, artistical, literary and etnoantropological heritage to the Museo Civico of Castelbuono. The Cultural Institution lives into the Castello, but, in prospective, his task is to create a well-integrated urban and territorial system of museum in the regional and national museum network.
The Museo Civico of Castelbuono and the Naturalistic Museum Francesco Minà Palumbo are the heirs of Centro Civico Castello Comunale. The first aim of the Museo Civico is to show visitors, through a museum tour, the Ventimiglia castle: the institutional seat and barycentre, the symbol of the city and, due to its functions and peculiarities, the heart of history, civic duty, culture and religious cult.
